Call me Hercules

Remember the story of Hercules? One of the tasks that he was given was to kill the Hydra. Every time he cut off a head, 3 more would grow. That is the way with flies in this house. You go on a rampage, kill about15 flies, you don't see any more, you think you got them all. 5 minutes later, they are BACK!!!

What Hercules finally did, was burn the stumps. So if you see a nice bonfire by our house, you know what happened.

On a side note, Prom is tomorrow. Juniors do not have school since we took the ACT! Naturally, I am not going to prom. Here are some more of the pictures from the Hole 'n the Wall. Of course, I am leaving off some really great pictures for the sake of size. In one of the pictures, I was in our room (2 stories) sitting on a beam overlooking the bottom of the room. It was a really nice (though not enough beds). The two adorable kids in the picture are Jolee (cute but bossy) and Ethan (just cute). I believe that they are both four. There is a picture of my dad and his siblings (and his mother).

blogging just to blog

So, I haven't blogged in a while so I figured that I should say something. Yesterday, for General Business, I had my mock interview. I had to dress up and interview with the superintendent, Mr. O'Donnel. It went ok, but I never want to do that again. On a different note, for Orchestra, I haven't been there in 5 weeks. Last week was the ACT, the week before that, we were at the Hole 'n the Wall, then you were down for the week before that, and before that, we had 2 weeks vacation. Our concert is next weekend. AHHHH!!!!
Sarah and Charity are tilling the huge garden. Dad's doing something or other. Mike is watching a movie, and James is on the computer that has all the pictures on it. Mom's in Sioux Falls working. James and Mike are also sick.
On Thursday, we had the Gate's Test which is reading/comprehension. It was really really easy. It had words on it like facade, words we had in our spelling book that Mrs. Bleeker tests us on. But not anything really interesting going on.

Hole 'n the wall

So, a week later, I finally get around to posting pictures of it. Gregg here is amazing! I love the guitar, especially the Spanish guitar. He should get some Spanish songs. I had so much fun that weekend as you can probably tell from the pictures. There are more pics/movies at Sarah and Charity's blogs. Movie's take forever to upload.

Today, I had the ACT. It wasn't that bad. But since I had the ACT, I didn't have orchestra. This is my third time missing it in a row and before that, we had a two weeks off for vacation. I will have missed 5 weeks. Either next week or the week after that is is the dress rehearsal! Oh no! It is snowing again. I want 70 degree weather!!!

My video is still loading (13M of 46M) and I still haven't put any pictures on!!!! Basically, I'm listening to music on you tube. Ohhhh, I just got to 17M's (whatever that means). I can't think of anything interesting to say. Charity drank all of my lemonade, which is ok since I gave it to her. (Yay! 22M).

We didn't start the fire.... We listened to this song in AP History and I decided to listen to it again. Now I watching Road to El dorado clips. Which, by the way, is a great movie for little kids (and big kids). Now it is Processing video... I've been doing dishes and it STILL isn't loaded yet!!! Ok, I just finished drying dishes and it's still not processes? You know, there are so many good pics, I'll post some more later.

2nd half of the trip

So this weekend, we went to the Hole in the Wall. FUN!!!! By the way, we missed you Janet. I will post a ton of pictures next time. As for solo ensemble, my time was at 11:22. I met at a church at 10:45 to meet with my accompanist. By the time we got to school and to the room I needed to be at, they were waiting for us so I had to quick take out my viola. AND there were other people in the room watching us. I don't know who it was. There were the judges, my parents, and some random people! That made me even more nervous. I don't think I did very well, I didn't stick around to find out because I wanted to get back to the Hole in the Wall.
On Sunday, we had to be out of there by 12 and my cello was in, so my dad, charity and I went to Sioux Falls to go pick it up. Of course, Schmitt was closed. So we turned back around and drove home. Yesterday after school, we went and picked it up. It's beautiful!! It's so pretty! I will have to post some pictures of it.

I have run out of things to say. I'm waiting for more pictures to load. Hmmm. Pictures of pigs, tattoos, and trapeze, just like I promised. What else to say...
In school, nothing interesting is happening. This computer wont do what I want it to do.

first 1/2 of trip

Thank you all so much for coming down to Iowa!!!! I'm sorry I haven't blogged since, I've had a hard time getting on the computer. For anyone wanting to know what happened, Paula has a great description on her blog. I had so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Picture of me walking 1/4 of a mile in the MUD to help pull them out. Also, at Casey's. I'm posting the fist half of the trip. If I don't post a picture that you really really want to see, just comment (i.e. more pictures of mud).

So I'm just rambling on while I wait for the pictures to upload. We got SNOW on Monday AND Tuesday! It was really slick out and they didn't cancel school! On Monday, we were getting big huge snowflakes basically all day and we didn't even get out early! I was disappointed.

Yesterday, I did my persuasive speech. I didn't think I did very well, but my teacher did. She said that I was very convincing. We needed a visual aid, and I was going to use a clip on the Internet, but I couldn't find one so I had to find a new visual aid. I was disappointed. But I think that my second visual aid worked better than my video would have.

Oh, here we are at the small chapel ( I think It's called the Wayside Chapel?) Anyway, I think that that's enough pictures. Here is a teaser for my next post. Pigs, tatoos, and trapeze!
